Midfields Wetlands Walk Spring Clean-Up

Volunteers are needed for a spring clean-up at the Midfields Wetlands Walk wetlands restoration site in the Cromwell Farms neighborhood of Norfolk) on  Saturday March 23, 9 a.m. to noon..
A wetlands restoration funded by the Chesapeake Bay Restoration Fund has been underway there since 2016.  The walking path extends along a creek of the Lafayette River from the end of Conway St to the ends of Dumont and Elwood Streets, just east of Granby St near DePaul Hospital.
Work will include weed-whacking the meadow area, removal of downed limbs, raking up bio-debris and wrack along the shore, mulch distribution along the walking path, and trash pick-up.
Volunteers should wear long sleeved pants and shirts, sturdy work shoes and bring rubber boots if available as the site can be muddy.  Tools, snacks and water will be provided.    Parking is available along any of the streets named above, on the east side of Granby Street.  Volunteers should meet at the end of Dumont Street.
